During the day there were plenary and workshop discussions on Environment, Housing, Regeneration,Transport, Economy, Social Inclusion and Participation.  These drew on developing ideas from 6 working groups as part of the process of creating a Community-led Plan for London.  Issues for debate included land taxation, community ownership, whether there is a place for Opportunity Areas in the next London Plan. The menu above under Next London Plan leads to the details.

Throughout the day there was an exhibition by ASH (Architects for Social Housing) which also formed the basis for a workshop.  More details are here.

A workshop on Food Policy was held as part of the conference by the Community Food Growers Network and others and their write-up is here http://www.cfgn.org.uk/2016/02/community-food-growing-food-production-policies-recommendations-for-the-london-plan-draft-february-2016/

The conference contained the launch event for Switched On London which is a coalition of organisations including trade unions, faith groups, community energy organisations and environmentalists campaigning for an  affordable, democratic and environmentally sustainable alternative to the Big Six energy companies. “We’re calling on the Greater London Authority – in collaboration with London boroughs – to set up a new, people-powered energy company. We want an energy company that cuts bills and cuts polluting carbon emissions. A company under public ownership, selling energy for the common good, not for profit. A company with social justice, clean energy and democracy at its core.”

Places are limited and invitations were sent first to community groups which have already been involved in working groups and preparations. Others who wanted to take part were offered places where space permitted.  This policy meant the exclusion, in particular, of a lot of students and staff from universities and another event designed equally for them is being planned for 28 April.
