These are some of the responses to the official consultation on the draft London Plan, which ended October 15th 2026. The prevailing view is that the plan is ‘unsound‘ because, in the language used by planning inspectors, it is ‘not justified, not positively prepared, not effective, or not consistent with national policy’.
JUST SPACE comments on about 30 policies:
Chapter 1 (Mayor did not ask for responses to Chapter 1 but it relates to the whole plan)
Chapter 2 ‘Making the best use of land’ (the overall strategy)
Chapter 3 Housing
Chapter 4 The economy
Chapter 5 ‘A greener city’
Chapter 6 ‘Place-based visions’ eg high streets, design
Transport policy has been heavily reduced in the Plan but we sent a response to all the chapters seen from a transport perspective – and found them to be unsound.
FOOD is nowhere in the Plan: we argue that it should be.
